En Route. The stops along my journey.

Ever since visiting Cuba, my latin wanderlust grew bigger and bigger, which is why I decided to take the leap and explore Central and South America. The more the better in 3 months and a bit. I want to see ancient cultures, friendly faces, diverse landscapes and just soak up as many memories as possible.

Central America. The ultimate trip.

The plan is to enjoy a Central American odyssey on an adventure that will take me from Mexico’s capital to the home of the Panama Canal.

The focus of this leg of the journey is to get acquainted with local cultures, spectacular landscapes and fascinating histories as I get to explore a wealth of ancient ruins, unusual wildlife, unique underwater worlds and idyllic Caribbean beaches. Along the way there will be friendly locals and a chance to discover why Central America is an adventurer's delight on this epic overland adventure from Mexico to Panama City.

Community stay.

At the start of my journey through parts of South America, I want to dive in to the everyday life and really get to know Ecuador. What better way than to experience it throught the people living there.

I will explore Tena, located in Ecuador’s Amazon Jungle, and experience the lifestyle of its inhabitants. Beginning in fascinating Quito, I will get to take some time to explore the charming city.

I will then travel by bus and motorised canoe to my remote hut accommodation. Go on walks through the surrounding jungle, searching out medicinal plants and wildlife during both day and night. I hope to learn from the local inhabitants and gain a unique insight into jungle life. Perhaps I will try my hand at hunting or maybe even create some chocolate from the fresh cocoa plants.

Wonderful Galapagos Islands.

After exploring the people of South America, the flora and fauna cannot be neglected. Amazing wildlife – both on land and underwater – is the drawcard of the remote Galapagos Islands.

I will get to discover the outstanding natural beauty and fascinating history of this region by foot, boat and bike on this active adventure. I plan to trace Darwin's theory of evolution and spot a staggering array of colourful, bizarre and beautiful creatures. It will be the experience of a lifetime.

Exploring Lima.

Another change in scenery - Lima.

I will embark on a short but delicious break in luscious Lima to unearth secret recipes, savour exotic fruits, listen to the spruiking of fishmongers in the markets and learn all about the popular spirit, pisco. I am really looking forward to this short tour that is jam-packed with culinary delights and culture, and therefore the perfect way to experience Peru’s charismatic capital in all its gastronomic glory. And what better way to get to know a place than by eating the local specialities!

Peru encompassed.

As Peru is an exciting country, it is necessary to no only enjoy the streets of Lima but to take an in depth look at the best of Peru encompassing modern cities and ancient worlds.

By explore the country's lush jungles, expansive lakes and harsh deserts I hope to touch into what Peru really is about. I will enjoy local homestays and get to know the locals, hike the famed Inca Trail or in my case the Quarry Trail and be immersed in fascinating Peruvian culture while discovering its history buried deep within the walls of lost cities.
